Kiski Valley Cat and Kitten Rescue, INC: A Shot at Life Vaccination Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Vaccination of a significant number of new intake kittens as "Kitten Season" was just upon us.

This grant helped keep our new kittens safe and healthy while awaiting their forever homes. It allowed them, once also spayed/neutered, to enjoy a happy, playful life in our free roam shelter while staying healthy due to their vaccinations Petfinder.com!

How many pets did this grant help?

Our shelter received 24 vaccinations.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Our shelter, like so many others at this time of year, has become inundated with kittens. Our orange trio, Firefly, Fonzie and One-Eyed Willie, were born to a feral mother outside on a local farm and dropped off to us along with their mother and sister, Sammie. rnrnA local farmer dropped off a litter of kittens as his farm was becoming overrun. Shimmer, Alloy and Iron were taken into the shelter under the stipulation that the farmer TNR his remaining outdoor cats. rnrnThe shelter also took in a litter of 5 FIV+ kittens from another shelter that was going to put them down due to their disease.rnrnAll of these kittens and more were aided by your generous donation of vaccinations to keep them healthy, safe and playful as kittens should be!
