How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used this grant to buy lick mats and snuffle mats for our foster dogs. After long transports and stressful transitions, these mats greatly help reduce stress. The mental stimulation the dogs receive with the enrichment toys can help make the transition to a new foster or adopter's home much smoother.

The dog pictured is Groot. Groot was a stray frequently seen running in the woods in Ohio. Finally a woman caught him and contacted us. We immediately went to rescue him.

His fosters utilized multiple enrichment toys and positive reinforcement to help socialize Groot. After running in the woods on his own for so long, he was very afraid. These toys helped him come around quickly to be an amazing adoptable dog!
