Last Chance Ranch: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The funds from this grant were utilized for medical services, specifically spay and neuters for dogs and cats in our care during COVID-19.

These funds were critical to the success of our organization during COVID-19. Unfortunately, we had to cancel several large fundraising events and our programs ceased. This created a substantial financial strain. However, due to a number of grants and donations, we were able to continue saving animals throughout this pandemic. We are so grateful that this grant from the Petfinder Foundation was able to help us prepare 10 animals for adoption.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Winnie (first photo) came to our organization as a stray with her brother. They were raised in a foster home until they were old enough to be fixed. Winnie found a home in June 2020!

Cinnamon Brownie (second photo) came to us from our rescue partner, Animal Aid USA, which pulls dogs from rural Georgia shelters. Cinnamon Brownie is about 1 year old and came up with three of her siblings. They all appeared to be Great Pyrenees mixes. She was spayed and made available for adoption in June. She was adopted shortly after!

Capone (third photo) is an adorable Chihuahua puppy who also came to us from Georgia through another transfer partner. He went into foster until he was old enough to be neutered. Shortly after being neutered, he found his forever home in June.
