Sanctuary One: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Cat dental surgery: $738 covered the actual costs (which were heavily discounted for us), and the remainder helped cover the mileage cost paid to an intern for taking the cat into town and back for surgery (that totaled $66.70).

Due to COVID and our sudden loss of earned revenue and event funds, this grant helped us with a critical dental surgery for one of our cats.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Skibs is currently seeking a home; with her dental surgery done, she is far more likely to find one. She had been adopted post-surgery, but was returned due to the owner’s change of situation. From her Petfinder profile: “Skibs is a mellow, kind cat. She is a sweetheart who loves being pet and will gently nudge your hand to let you know that she is ready for affection and attention. Skibs would love nothing more than to have a person of her very own to snuggle up next to.

“With her striking features, Skibs almost resembles a tiny panther. Not to worry, though: The only thing this tiny panther will be hunting is a nice tasty can of cat food! Skibs lights up at meal time, she loves to eat and gets extremely excited when her food is being prepared.” You can meet Skibs here.
