Oregon Dog Rescue: KONG Toys Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

These super cool and durable Kong toys are being used for enrichment here at Oregon Dog Rescue. They are great tools to stimulate and enhance the dogs' fun while they are awaiting their forever homes.

The 2020 Kong Toy Grant is helping to provide mental and physical stimulation to the rescue dogs while keeping them safe with these trustworthy and durable toys. Enrichment benefits the dogs in so many ways. We like to stuff Kongs with peanut butter and freeze them so when the dogs lick them it takes a little extra effort and focus for them to get the reward. Having these toys makes our dogs so happy, reduces their stress, stimulates their brains, puts their olfactory senses to good use and makes their tails wag! Kongs are staples here at Oregon Dog Rescue.

Teddy (first photo) is a super energetic and sweet cattle dog mix who is shy around the other dogs but has lots of love to give as well as energy to exert. These Kongs are bringing him a whole lot of entertainment while he waits to find his perfect match. You can meet Teddy here.
