Oregon Dog Rescue: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Oregon Dog Rescue is honored to have received a 2020 COVID-19 Operation Grant from the Petfinder Foundation. This grant has been instrumental in providing emergency medical care to a dog who recently arrived at our shelter and we thank you for playing a large role in her success story.

See below for Tulips' story. Although our shelter has ceased walk-in adoptions and we have greatly reduced our hours due to COVID-19, we are doing everything we can to safely adopt out dogs by appointment only and provide the very best care to the dogs who are currently residing with us at our facility as well as dogs who are in foster homes.

How many pets did this grant help?

Mama dog and her five puppies, so six altogether!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

The funds from this grant are being directed toward a lovely 7-year-old dog named Tulip who arrived to our care very pregnant during these uncertain times from a high-[intake] shelter in California. She required a lifesaving c-section, which cost $1,800. We consider her saved just in the nick of time. Tulip is currently living the maternal life in the home of a lovely volunteer foster named Rita. She is nursing her puppies to health and they are growing stronger by the day!
