How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were granted a large number of Kong toys in a variety of sizes. This enables us to provide stuffed Kong toys to all our dogs as a daily treat, even when other Kongs are being washed.

This donation helps us give our dogs mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis by providing Kong toys to them. This also helps give adopters a great start because dogs are familiar with Kong toys, and the adopter can see the value of investing in a Kong for their new pet.

Tiki (first two photos) was surrendered by her family as a result of a home foreclosure. She had been depressed and withdrawn here at the shelter and did not want to leave her dog house. We gave her a Kong stuffed with kibble, canned dog food, and a dab of peanut butter. She came out of her dog house, investigated and sniffed the Kong, and decided to give it a try. She cleaned out the contents and now comes to the front of the kennel when we pass out daily Kongs! Meet Tiki: https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/32733956/
