How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Our pets were able to get nice, comfortable places to sleep, especially our overweight dogs who needed more comfort as they worked hard to lose weight.

Shimmy (first photo) was one of the dogs we mentioned when applying for the grant. She came into rescue at 127 lbs. She should have been 40-45 lbs.

In addition to her food and exercise regimens, we thought it was important to keep her joints as comfortable as possible. The P.L.A.Y. mats were perfect for this purpose!

Shimmy is now down to 72 lbs. and has been ADOPTED! To say we are thrilled for her is an understatement! Her new dad walks her every day and they are working up to short runs. Eventually he wants to take her on hikes and long-distance runs.

The other dogs currently in our care are also making great use of these comfortable beds. Dallas, Little Sophie, Teddy, and Benji (photos no. 2-5) are a few of the dogs waiting for their forever homes.
