Animal Aid of Tulsa: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We received the P.L.A.Y. pet-beds grant! We utilized the beds for our pets in boarding as they recovered medically and also sent some beds to the pets in foster homes.
We were able to provide our pets with soft, comfortable bedding while they recover from medical procedures, are in foster homes, and are at adoption events. It has also been valuable having spare beds available to fosters who have taken in puppies or incontinent dogs who need frequent bedding changes.
How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
One pet in particular who was helped by the beds is Gabriel (first photo). Gabriel came to us after being hit by a car. He was paralyzed in the back end, but could still defecate on his own. He needs assistance to urinate. We knew that treatment must begin as soon as possible. He was referred to physical therapy and acupuncture, where he has made progress, and a wheelchair was donated! His attitude is amazing — in fact, when the therapist put his wheelchair on for the first time, he just took off as though it was second nature! He can move around on his own without the wheelchair too and LOVES to scoot around and play with his toys. He loves all dogs and doesn’t mind cats. Gabriel has enjoyed the comfort of the P.L.A.Y. beds and his foster home has appreciated having spare beds available for frequent bedding changes. Meet Gabriel here.
