Tails of Hope: All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used this amazing, generous grant to save three unwanted, abused, and neglected puppies. We named them "The Stragglers."

With this grant we were able to orchestrate a rather emergency rescue. We arrived with flea medication and dewormer ready to go. We also utilized this grant to provide emergency medical care for these three puppies as well as ongoing medical care for Tosha, who was in the worst shape of all.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

The Stragglers — Tosha, Trixie, and Tara — were rescued from a horrible, dangerous life in the nick of time. In fact, one of their siblings died before help could arrive. We knew one was injured pretty badly and might not survive as well. They were covered with fleas, riddled with worms, and one, Tosha (first photo), could not walk. She also had bones in her stomach that were causing bloody stool. Tosha arrived with a broken hip and tibia as well as a case of ringworm. She has made extraordinary progress in a short time. Tosha required x-rays, a cast, and crate rest to heal her broken bones. She is walking and running like a normal pup these days. She continues to be on two medications daily and requires anti-fungal baths. She is so excited to find her perfect family, as her sisters Tara and Trixie already have. Meet Tosha:
