Humane Society of Greater Dayton: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
With the $3,500 grant from Kia, the Humane Society of Greater Dayton was able to reduce adoption fees by $100 for 35 adoptable dogs and puppies at our shelter. In addition, HSGD was able to highlight this grant and the dogs and puppies adopted on our social-media channels, which garnered greater awareness for the Humane Society of Greater Dayton and our ongoing need for funding support of our mission.
How many pets did this grant help?
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
This couple traveled from a rural area in Montgomery County, where they have a small farm, to see what available puppies we had for adoption.
When they saw these two — Scruffy and Tuffy — were the only two left of a litter, they could not break their bond and decided to adopt both of them on the spot.
These adopters have had dogs their entire lives, but took a break after losing their last dog earlier this year. We know these pups will live out their lives safe and sound in a loving, forever home.
