Wilmington Area Humane Society: A Shot at Life Vaccination Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Wilmington Area Humane Society was awarded a Shot at Life vaccination grant and received Fel-O-Guard plus3 to immunize kittens.

With not having the expense of this vaccines for the cats in our care, it has allowed us to take in a several special need animals(dogs) that we could have not helped previously.

How many pets did this grant help?

Believe that 75 doses were sent. so we are still using them for the next couple of months.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Awarded First Place in the Household Cat Category, at the recent Queen City Show, Maddux is a gorgeous, friendly kitty who benefited from the grant. He was adopted at the cat show and lives with a couple who are avid cat lovers. rnrnSpooky and Hallie, two feral kittens, are also recipients of the vaccine. When found at a local trucking company, they were very shy and “hissers.” Orginally not keen to be around people or other cats, they have come a long way with the help of our volunteers. They have become socialized and are now available for adoption.
