Humane Ohio: Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The money was used to decrease the adoption fee for cats and kittens by $25 each during the month of August.
Due to COVID-19, we have been unable to have in-store adoption events for our cat and kitten adoption program, which was where we found most of our adopters in the past. By providing discounted adoption fees, we could encourage people to adopt without seeing the pet in person at an event and also alleviate a bit of the financial stress most people are dealing with at this time, allowing them instead to buy supplies for their new friend.
How many pets did this grant help?
30
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Frankie (first photo) and Grady (second photo) were living in a cat colony on the streets when they were trapped by Humane Ohio staff for spay/neuter. Due to their age, we took them into a foster home to see if they could be socialized and to find a safe, indoor adoptive home for them. Both Frankie and Grady were adopted with the help of this grant discounting their adoption fees this August.
