Clark County SPCA, Inc.: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The 2020 COVID-19 Operation Grant was used for vetting costs.

During the pandemic, our county wardens were completely closed down to the public and were only running emergency calls. We were able to pull all of their adoptable dogs for our Foster-to-Adopt Program. We even were able to pull a very sick dog thanks to this grant.

How many pets did this grant help?

22

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

With the help of this grant, we were able to pull 22 dogs from our county warden’s office in April and May due to their complete closure to the public. We were able to place most of them into our Foster-to-Adopt Program (until spay/neuter appointments could be made) and adopt them out. We still have two who have not been adopted. One was very sick, emaciated and diabetic and is still not available for adoption until her sugar levels are completely stable and she can be spayed. Her name is Maggie May (first photo). The other one is Miss Violet (other photos) and she is a sweet, loving young pit bull mix looking for her forever home. You can meet Violet here.
