Bad and tragic things too often happen to all kinds of animals, and sadly Lewis falls into this category. Adopted from OAR at a very young age, he thought he was going to his forever home. For close to 14 years it was; but recently his family decided that it wasn’t “convenient” to keep him anymore, and they returned him. On one hand, we are grateful they returned him to us versus throwing him out on the street or taking him to [an open-admission] shelter, but on the other hand it is very difficult to understand how someone can quickly decide you can’t be family anymore, especially when you haven’t done anything wrong. Lewis did nothing wrong! This beautiful, gorgeous boy is doing his very best to handle this rejection the best way he can — admirably, we might add. He has quickly become a favorite of all the volunteers, and loves attention and petting. When you walk in his room, he will come over to greet you and welcomes cuddly petting. You will quickly hear his happy purr. Meet Lewis:
