Planned Pethood, Inc.: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Your generous grant allowed us to rescue, fully vet and provide two full months of foster care (food and supplies) to Raven and her five puppies.

This grant allowed us to pull a very pregnant mama dog out of a cold and lonely shelter. We were able to make sure she had her puppies in a safe and loving environment and not alone on a concrete floor. In addition, we were able to fully vet and spay/neuter mama and her five pups and provide them a foster home for two months before they all found loving, forever homes.

We are beyond grateful to the Petfinder Foundation for allowing us the opportunity to save Raven and her babies thanks to the Covid-19 Operations Grant.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Raven had been found as a stray and was never claimed at the shelter. She was very pregnant and needed a place to have her puppies and be cared for. Planned Pethood, Inc., took her into our program and, while she was nervous on the ride home, she immediately settled into her foster home, playing with the other resident dogs and cats, being kind and caring toward the children, and turning into an overall sweet companion.

After only six days with her fosters, she gave birth to five puppies — two boys and three girls, all resembling their mama. Raven was a very good and attentive mother. Once the puppies were old enough, she loved to play with them and teach them how to be big dogs. Thanks to the Petfinder Foundaton, they were all able to be fully vetted and spayed/neutered and were very popular among our followers, each receiving multiple applications. They all got adopted to wonderful homes and are all thriving.

Please find. from top, photos of Raven when she was in the shelter, on the ride to her foster home (in a crate), with her newborn pups, and three of her puppies (Piper, Archie, and Violet) in their forever homes.
