Connor and Millie's Dog Rescue: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The beds we received have been distributed to our foster families for use with our foster dogs.

Many of our foster families cannot afford to buy a bed for every foster pet. The rescue's money goes to medical needs and food first, before we can spend it on beds. Many of our foster pets sleep on blankets and towels, but being able to give some of our pets their very own bed was a real treat, especially the larger dogs. Even our rescue cats find the beds comfortable.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Poofy is a 14-year-old poodle mix who has been in the rescue for 18 months. Poofy is arthritic, deaf, and nearly blind. Her days are spent napping and slowly exploring the back yard. Poofy gets very warm in a standard bed, so the P.L.A.Y. pad is perfect for her. It does not overheat her, yet it provides a soft spot for her to lie on when she needs to relax.
