An older couple were looking for a pet that would serve as a companion for the wife, who was recovering from a heart attack. They had adopted a dog, but returned it because it proved to be too active and required more attention and strength than the woman could give. They returned to the shelter to select a cat, and they were the first ones to adopt a cat that had been vaccinated with the vaccine provided by this grant. The wife is in love with this beautiful cat and both seem to be doing well.
