All Fur One: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant has made our dogs and cats who did not get adopted during puppy- or kitten-hood shine! We have already had 26 adoptions that qualified for this grant.
These animals have ranged from seniors we rescued from Virginia knowing this grant would make them easier to place to owner-surrendered animals who came to us later in their lives.
We have seen a triple adoption of adult sibling cats, many mom cats and dogs, and some super-seniors get adopted since receiving this grant, and we still have money to go! Our adopters are very excited to save money on adoption fees so they can contribute more to their new animals' care.
How many pets did this grant help?
So far, we have used this grant to help 26 animals. With $975 left, we will be able to help many more!
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
The pet most recently helped by the Kia grant was an old-man beagle mix named Derby. We brought him up from Buchanan County, Virginia, on our July transport with 100 other animals.
Without the Kia grant, it would have been harder to take the risk on bringing back an elderly dog who would almost certainly be harder to place. Knowing that the grant would make him a very affordable adoption, we brought him back.
He was adopted by a very sweet couple and has a doggy sister who shares some similar medical issues due to her age. The lowered adoption fee will definitely help the owners with the additional cost of adopting a senior pet.
