Paw It 4ward: Emergency Medical Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The grant was utilized towards the femoral head ostectomy surgery and hydrotherapy costs of our adoptable Jonah. The total for all his medical care was $4,000-plus.

With COVID halting all our fundraising efforts, the grant was crucial in helping the rescue provide the care that Jonah needed to be pain-free and able to utilize his leg.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Jonah was formerly known as Tedd from ACCT Philly. Some of our amazing team members actively volunteer at ACCT to make sure pups are evaluated, exercised, and promoted. They also set up playgroups to showcase the pups at play. Let’s just say it was unanimous that Jonah needed to come on board, 1. because of his injured leg, as he needed FHO surgery to be able to walk probably and should not be sitting in a shelter, and 2. because he was an amazing breed ambassador even with his pain.
