The Kia Pet Adoption Grant allowed us at Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter to reduce adoption fees for 25 animals. Thanks to this grant, we were able to remove barriers to adoption and adopt out two of our long-term residents.

The Kia Pet Adoption Grant gave one of our longest-term residents an opportunity for a new life. After 235 days in the shelter, Callie was adopted and went home with her forever family! Thanks to the Kia Pet Adoption Grant, Callie’s adoption fee was reduced by half. Once her new family fell in love, the Kia Pet Adoption Grant removed any financial barriers to adoption.

Callie had been long overlooked. We began to worry that, despite our best efforts, shelter life was beginning to take its toll, mentally and physically. But Callie’s new family saw her potential. They are dedicated to providing Callie with a full life and making the memories of the shelter a thing of the past. Callie’s story is a pet welfare fairy “TAIL”!!!
