The grant funds were used to purchase enrichment items such as Kong Wobblers, Kongs, PVC feeder supplies as well as Indestructaballs.

SJRAS has been able to provide enrichment to the dogs in our care at a more consistent and creative level than before thanks to these supplies.

Ninja was staying at the shelter on a court hold as part of a cruelty case. He was with us for more than a year. Our staff was challenged with keeping him stimulated both physically and mentally. Thanks to the Orvis grant, we were able to provide him a wide variety of enrichment items and activities. Ninja was finally released to SJRAS after 417 days! He was transferred to one of our rescue partners so that he could begin the next chapter in his life!
