Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Trooper was surrendered to the shelter after having been adopted from a rescue that transported from a southern state and adopted to someone right off the transport. Within hours of his adoption, he had nipped the little boy in the family and they wanted him out of the house. The rescue was unable to provide a clean, safe environment and the dog remained in the care of the Montville shelter. Trooper was a sweet boy with very bad ear infections and was also diagnosed as heartworm-positive. The grant money was used to treat the infection and provide treatment over three months. Trooper has tested negative for heartworm and has several people interested in adopting him. Applications are being reviewed; Trooper is scheduled for his neuter and his adoption should happen in the next week or so.
