Live and Let Live Farm Rescue: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Thank you for your continued support! Funds received were used for veterinary care to have health certificates for adoptable pets to promote their adoptions; reduced rates for special circumstances, including waived fees for a young girl who recently lost both her parents and was adopting several pets; care for pregnant cats and dogs who were in foster care so they could raise their babies in a home environment until the litters were of adoptable age; advertising goods and materials; and much more.

We are a large rescue and sanctuary, and grants and donations allow us to take in and place many more animals. By partnering with organizations such as Petfinder.com, we are able to increase the exposure of animals needing homes. We have also partnered with our local PetSmart to have adoption events, and we advertise available pets on Petfinder.com banners to increase public awareness of animals in the rescue needing sponsors, fosters and adopters.

How many pets did this grant help?

Our adoption numbers are in the hundreds.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

We have been able to help in so many ways, but one special adoption means the world to us. One of our former volunteers passed away last year after a long battle with cancer. Her young teenage daughter then lost her father months later. She is an extraordinary young lady. After the loss of both her parents, she lost her cat. We were able to reduce and waive the adoption fees to adopt out a new kitten along with two sugar gliders. She now has new animal companions to comfort and share love with her. Additionally, we have many animals in long-term foster care for whom we provide medical care, food and other support while they nurse litters.
