We used the New Year, New Home grant to lower the cost of adoptions and pay for medical expenses.
Thanks to the New Year, New Home grant, 26 dogs were adopted in May because of reduced adoption fees! We were also able to use the grant to pay for medical costs such as heartworm tests, spay/neuter for 12 dogs, dental extractions, an MRI, and more.
Jozey (first photo) was turned in to MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue (MABTR) at the age of 9 because he bit a toddler in the home. He was in foster care for a month and a half in Colorado before traveling to his new home in Kansas! He is well-loved by his new mom and enjoys playing with his new Boston sister.
Sunshine (second photo) arrived from a puppy mill, 6 years old and very shy. She found her forever home in Nebraska with a family that can offer her the patience and time to settle in, get comfortable and become the social butterfly we know she can be!
Morris (third photo) was turned over to MABTR at 2 years old because he was not getting along with the other dogs in his house. Unfortunately, it was the second time Morris had to be uprooted. Luckily, he found his forever home in Colorado, where he is king of the castle and doesn’t need to share his people or his palace!
I have several more photos, if you are interested. The grant was a HUGE help and allowed a lot of sweet pups to find their forever families!
