Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Claude is one of eight standard poodles that were seized from an individual in Randolph County, N.C. These poodles were in dire need of veterinary treatment and rescue. They were all emaciated, anemic, dehydrated, and being kept in horrific conditions.

Claude had sustained an injury to his left hind leg that was never treated by a veterinarian. Claude actually chewed his left hind foot completely off while still in the care of his abuser. This man is currently facing eight felony animal-cruelty charges.

The Petfinder Foundation’s Emergency Medical Grant funding made it possible for us to provide Claude with the lifesaving surgical amputation needed for this precious poodle to regain strength and mobility and to live pain-free.
