Mercy Fund Animal Rescue received $27 for Billy through the Sponsor A Pet program. These funds were used to perform a heartworm test. Fortunately, Billy's test was negative.

This donation helped to offset the expense of a test that is performed on dogs during intake. Heartworm tests are conducted to determine if the animal has heartworms that require treatment.

Billy was a stray dog who was running along a highway and about to run down the ramp onto an interstate highway when a good Samaritan picked him up. They contacted Mercy Fund to help. Now he is living with his foster family while he waits to find his new forever home. Because Billy can climb a 5-ft. fence and likes to run, his new owners will need to keep him contained, hopefully indoors with his new family. Meet Billy:
