Protective Animal Society (KC PAWS): Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

KC PAWS's mission is to save the lives of homeless pets by changing the way our community views animal sheltering and shelter pets. KC PAWS used grant funding to provide free pet adoptions. KIA grant funds helped KC PAWS match families with pets in forever homes. Adopters were able to focus on taking home their new pet(s) and providing food and supplies to their new family member.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Pip (first photo) was released by a breeder after showing genetic problems with her hips. She was only 6 weeks old.

Pip’s medical issues persisted: All the joints in her body are like rubber bands, with connective tissue that could stretch beyond normal limits.

While she gets around pretty well, Pip needed a hero who would understand her challenges and would be there to make sure she had the best life possible. Kia adoption grant funds provided that opportunity and she found her forever home.
