Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Whiskey came to us from eastern Kentucky. He was found as a stray and, while staying at a temporary foster home until we could get him moved, he was hit by a car. His leg was badly broken and required surgery to repair the break.
Through the entire ordeal, he was the BEST boy. After his recovery at the vet clinic, he was moved to a foster home in Kentucky, where his stay was shorter than we thought it would be as a previous adoptive family saw him on our website and immediately fell in love! And honestly, who could blame them? He is gorgeous!
I was blessed to be able to meet up with transport as Whiskey made his way from his Kentucky foster home to his new family, who actually drove from Minnesota to Illinois to pick him up. Whiskey is one of the sweetest and most loving dogs I have ever met.
We are beyond thrilled that he found us and that, with the help of the Petfinder Foundation and our amazing supporters, we were able to take care of him and get him vetted, healthy, adopted, and loved.
