How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The money was used to purchase leashes, loop-leash harnesses, treat waist pouches, and portable water dishes.

This is grant enabled us to obtain uniform equipment needed for dogs and field trip/pack walk participants. We bought matching "Adopt Me" leashes to promote the dogs who are going out on trips. We also purchased loop-leash harnesses because they are adjustable and fit all sizes. We also really wanted to make sure everyone has treats on them when they are out with the dogs so they can reinforce good behavior they see, and treats are great safety tools for participants.

Almost all the dogs we’ve taken on pack walks over the summer have been adopted, with the exception of a few. Remy (first four photos), our young orange/red majestic mix, has been on nearly all the pack walks, but has not had any luck being adopted. She’s such a nice dog with lots of energy to burn and, for some reason, she continues to be passed over. We hope we can continue getting her some exposure and time out of the kennel life soon!
