Fitz came into Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue from Detroit as Meta.

They told us that he had broken toes, but when we took him in, the vet was actually in shocked at how bad his injury was. His back foot was shattered and hanging on by a thread (literally, because there was a chunk of bone missing) and we found out that his wound was the result of a gunshot.

The decision was made to amputate the bottom part of his leg. The grant will help offset the medical costs of his surgery. Fitz’s adoption is pending.
