Humane Society of Midland County: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We used the money for treatment of mange in a litter of puppies we had earlier this year. It paid for a vet appointment and Bravecto treatment for all six puppies.
It allowed us the financial opportunity to care for mange in a group of puppies we had brought into our program from an overcrowded shelter. It helped us to ensure their health prior to adoption.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
We received a mom and six puppies from an overcrowded shelter in the middle of May. The mom was in rough shape. The pups started showing hair loss shortly after, when they were around 5 weeks of age. A vet visit was necessary and a skin scrape revealed demodex mange. The puppies all got a treatment of Bravecto and soon began regaining fur. The puppies that were treated using the funds from this grant have all recovered completely and have been adopted into loving homes.
