Carol's Ferals: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The $180 was used to fund an eye-removal surgery for a cat named Sammy.

While we have many adoptable cats in our direct care and foster, it is the helping of cats on the street like Sammy that really brings the greatest reward. Like Sammy, all of the cats in our program were homeless and in need of care. Sammy didn't come into our adoption program, per se, but he surely would have had Sandy not been able to take him in. The funding made that possible.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Sammy came to us via Sandy, a community cat caregiver. He was in pretty rough shape. But even in distress, Sammy was a sweet boy, so sweet and loving that Sandy said she would take him into her home once he was recovered. Thankfully, we had funding to help Sammy with his the removal of his very painful, infected eye. Cats like Sammy come into Carol’s Ferals all the time. Knowing we have the funding in place to help such cats in need makes our good work possible. The idea of not being able to help him in his time of need would have been very distressing for Sandy and all involved.

Thank you, Petfinder Foundation, for making this grant possible so we could help Sandy defray costs associated with Sammy’s surgery.
