Ionia County Animal Shelter: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The sponsorship money helped pay the pull fee for a senior dog rescue to come in and pull Baby and Fred, the senior beagles.
This helped Baby and Fred the beagles to be able to be placed in a rescue where they would live with a foster and get all the medical attention needed in order to find them a new home where they could live out the rest of their lives.
How many pets did this grant help?
Two beagles
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Baby (first two photos) and Fred (third and fourth photos) came to the shelter with medical issues. They had been outside dogs when their owner passed away and no one in the family could take them. We took them into our shelter, gave them the medical care that we could and then looked for a senior-dog rescue to take them that could further meet their medical needs. The Sponsor a Pet funds helped pay the pull fee so that Baby and Fred could be placed in a rescue where they would live with a foster and get all the medical attention needed in order to find them a new home where they could live out the rest of their lives.
