Ionia County Animal Shelter: Purina and Amazon Treats for the Holidays Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used the Purina cat treats in two different ways:

1. We gave them to the kitties while they were staying here at the shelter.
2. We sent a container of treats home with each kitty that was adopted.

We don't have funding to buy our animals treats and such, so this helped us a lot as we only have treats for the animals when they are donated to us. We also were able to give the new adopter a goody bag with these treats inside to help them welcome their new kitty to their new home.

Lindsey was brought to the shelter after the finder had found her and had her for two weeks. She was super sweet and was declawed and already spayed but not microchipped, and no one came looking for her. We got her the rest of her medical needed and put her up for adoption. She arrived March 18, 2016, and went to her new home March 29. She wasn’t here long but enjoyed her treats while she was here. We had volunteers brush her and get her all pretty for her new home. I have included a “before” and a couple of photos “after” in her new home.
