Friends of Michigan Animals Rescue: Bar Dog Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant has allowed us to purchase vaccines to keep our constant flow of incoming cats and dogs healthy and to prevent the transmission of disease.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Peekaboo came to us as a stray back in July. She went into a foster home to help socialize her, as she was understandably frightened after being rescued from a train track.

She began to have seizures while in the foster home. While the exact cause of the seizures wasn’t determined, it was recommended to us to do a delayed vaccination schedule.

With assistance from this grant, we were able to ensure that enough vaccines were available to allow us to follow through with the delayed schedule while also vaccinating the other cats and kittens we took in during Kitten Season.

Peekaboo has since been adopted. She is now called Piper and is enjoying life with her new family.
