Bottle Babies Rescue: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Kia Pet Adoption Grant allowed our rescue to host a reduced-fee adoption event and feature our longer-term residents and harder-to-adopt pets. This was an amazing opportunity for our pets to find forever homes.

How many pets did this grant help?

This grant helped 15 of our pets, with only two still waiting for forever homes.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Our sweet girls Melonie (first photo) and Misty (second photo) are still looking for their forever homes. They are our longest-term pets currently in the rescue.

Melonie is a 2.5-year-old American Bulldog mix looking for her forever home!

Melonie is energetic, playful, curious, and loves attention! She is eager to please and responds well when corrected. It didn’t take her long to learn her foster family’s routine and rules.

While Melonie gets along with other dogs, she would do best as an only dog in the home until her new family has time to work with her on manners, socializing, and learning boundaries while playing with other dogs.

Melonie also gets along great with the adults and kids (ages 8 and 13) in her foster home, but because of her excited energy, we recommend no kids under 5 and a fenced yard.

Melonie is crate-trained, potty-trained, walks well on a leash, knows basic commands, and loves going for car rides. You can meet Melonie here.

Looking for a well-behaved, potty/crate-trained sweetheart? Meet Misty! She is a 2-year-old Lab mix. Misty has had 0 accidents, sleeps quietly throughout the night, and is a minimal barker! Misty likes to frolic around outside but is very calm inside. She’s very human-friendly, does great with kids, and is curious about other dogs. She doesn’t particularly like her foster’s male dogs but doesn’t growl at other dogs. Misty can’t wait to show you her tappy dance!

Meet Misty here.
