Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Birch (first photo) and Spruce (second photo) came to the rescue on Feb. 21, 2022, after their elderly owner was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and was no longer able to care for himself or his kitties.

Birch and Spruce were from the same litter and had lived with this man since they were kittens. Their whole worlds had been turned upside down. They were used to living alone with their person in a quiet home with few visitors, so when they came into the rescue they were very shy and stayed huddled together. It was difficult to get decent pictures of them for social media and advertising. They had received NO interest until the Petfinder Foundation stepped up and sponsored their adoption fees!

We actually had two applicants for the senior pair, so Birch and Spruce were adopted together on May 13, 2022, to a couple who have had lots of experience adopting and caring for senior kitties.
