Alley Cat Rescue, Inc.: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The money received was used to support the adoptions of Jughead and Archie. Since both are special-needs kitties, it went toward covering their adoption fees.

The grant assisted Jughead in finding a forever home. Since he is an FIV-positive kitty, getting him into a home environment is crucial to decreasing his stress. Archie is still at the rescue, but has a promising future in a local government office where he will be placed soon.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Jughead’s new dad came into the rescue looking for a kitten for his wife. When he started looking for his kitten, Jughead (first three photos) approached him, jumped right into his lap and began cuddling him. The adopter had no choice but to Facetime his wife and show her how wonderful Jughead was. She wasn’t sold completely, but once Jughead arrived in their home, all he did was follow her around. She is now in love with him. Jughead has truly found his forever home thanks to our partnership with the Petfinder Foundation.

Archie (fourth photo) came to our rescue after being saved from euthanasia at an area shelter because he’s FIV positive. He loves to snuggle with one of our other FIV-positive cats, Idalou. He is a shy boy, but will love you once you give him pets and attention. He is very laid-back and loves to sleep high up on our cat shelves. Meet Archie: www.petfinder.com/petdetail/39481342
