How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

A catio was constructed off our main cat adoption room.

We have anywhere from 10-15 cats living in the catio with access to the adoption room via cat door. These cats absolutely LOVE to be outside in the fresh air and sunshine. When people come to our shelter, it's the first place they stop to see animals.

How many pets did this grant help?

We take in approximately 1,000 cats per year.

Jax is a special cat at our shelter. He is a very loving and affectionate boy who longs to be outside. However, Jax lacks “street smarts” when it comes to dogs and moving vehicles. The catio is the perfect setup for him. He spends his days lounging in the sun and hanging out on the cat tree or in the rafters. But, most importantly, he is safe and secure.
