Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Sophie, a beautiful young gray tabby was a neighborhood stray. She was well fed, lived outside and had never been spayed. After Sophie got pregnant with her second litter this year, we received a call to accept her as a surrender from one of the families caring for her. They were tired of finding homes for her kittens and wanted a better life for her. When Sophie came to us, she was very pregnant and due any minute. On July 3rd she have birth to 9 kittens, 6 males and 3 females. This litter is the largest litter of kittens that has ever been born in one of our foster homes. There were 5 black and white kittens, 2 brown tiger with white, and 2 Maine Coon type kittens. All kittens received their first vaccine at the age of 6 weeks, then follow up vaccines 3 – 4 weeks later. Mama Sophie was spayed, then went home first with a wonderful family who will give her the life she deserves. The 4 larger kittens went home last weekend, all were neutered and fully vaccinated prior to adoption. The others who are a bit smaller will be spayed and neutered in the next couple of weeks then offered for adoption. Please see the attached photos of the “Duggar Litter”. Thank you for the vaccine grant to make their life healthier.
