The Cat Connection: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were very pleased to receive a sponsorship grant in the amount of $22.50 for the fourth quarter of 2014. The funds were used to help support the care of Pebbles, who needed special food for kidney issues.

The Cat Connection depends greatly on individual and foundation donations for the support of our foster cats, including those with special needs, special diets, and chronic medical issues. We could not do what we do without this financial support.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Pebbles is one of the sweetest, most affectionate cats you’ll ever meet. A beautiful long-haired white/tabby cat, she’s had some tough times in her nine years. She was adopted from The Cat Connection as a kitten with her sister, and lived in a home until last year, when financial troubles forced her guardians to give them up. Since The Cat Connection always takes our cats back, they were brought back into our care with kidney and skin problems. Pebbles bounced back incredibly. Her skin healed. With her special kidney diet and lots of care and attention, she is doing great. She also has an inner ear disorder, but it doesn’t really affect her except in the way she carries her head with a slight tilt, making her look a bit inquisitive. She loves people and is always one of the first to appear, looking to be petted or brushed, which she loves. With the support of the Petfinder Foundation donation, she is ready for her new adoptive home.
