We are very grateful for this grant. One particular cat who was very special to us, Emerald, got the chance to go to a new home in June. This is her story: “Hi, my name is Emerald and I am a local kitty. I lived in a home with a lot of other kitties and it was not very safe or clean for us. When I was arrived, I was pregnant and scared. I went right into foster care, where I was loved and in a safe and clean place to have my two children. A friend of mine had one kitten a week later and could not take care of her, so I became its foster mom. A few days after that, another one of my friends had three kittens and also was unable to care for them, so I took them under my wing too. I was a very good mama to all six of them! I discovered that I love to be pet, and my foster mom says that I have a wonderful purr. I cannot wait to have a forever home, and other kitties there are fine. I love cats and am beginning to really trust people.”
