Purrs of Hope Rescue: Disaster Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
1. We used this grant to purchase much-needed vaccines, antibiotics and combo tests from our shelter program through Zoetis.
2. This disaster grant helped us spay/neuter some of the cats that we took in from our local flooded shelter. We spayed eight females and neutered eight males.
This disaster grant allowed us to vaccinate 75 cats and combo-test 25 cats for FELV/FIV. We had 16 total cats spayed or neutered: eight females and eight males. We also treated many of our cats that came in with upper-respiratory infections from the flood.
How many pets did this grant help?
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Thanks to the Petfinder Foundation awarding us the disaster grant, we have been able to provide the necessary care to many of the cats and kittens we took in from the flood. This grant was a blessing in helping us provide them with their vaccinations, combo tests and spay/neuter surgeries. We are excited to report that all of the cats we took in from Tangi Humane Society, one of our local shelters that flooded, have been fully vetted and ready for adoption. Many are now waiting for their fur-ever homes.
