Bark And Roll Rescue Companions: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The P.L.A.Y. beds are used for all the dogs in our foster care.
Products were used for comfort when at adoption events and for bedding while the dogs are waiting for adoption. The P.L.A.Y. beds are great because they are easily washed and sanitized in between litters of puppies and dogs. We use the beds for dogs as they recover from spay/neuter because they are soft and cushioned, and they don't put pressure on surgical incisions.
How many pets did this grant help?
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Brule (first and second photos) is a puppy in our foster care. She has a “machine-gun” heart murmur and this causes her to have frequent incontinence episodes. She loves her P.L.A.Y. bed and, because it is so easy to wash and sanitize, it allows her comfort while she’s in her kennel but is easily cleaned if she has an accident.
Marla (third photo, with Brule) was able to be comfortable at an adoption event without having to worry about the hot concrete due to her wonderful P.L.A.Y. bed — even when Brule tried to steal it from her.
Chai (fourth photo) enjoyed his P.L.A.Y. bed after his neuter because it was soft and non scratchy on his neuter site, and provided a cushion while he recovered.
