Zeus' Rescues: Disaster Response and Recovery Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The funds were used for the medical care of the animals that came into our rescue in the path of Hurricane Harvey. We received multiple transports of dogs and cats from the affected areas in Texas and Western Louisiana. Most of the dogs were intact and we had minimal info about their medical history. These dogs would have otherwise been euthanized. They have all received excellent care and most have been placed in forever homes.

This grant allowed us to save lives. If our group did not agree to take these pets from shelters in the path of the storm, the only other choice was euthanization. Each life matters, and the first group was dogs who only had numbers: Dog 1 through Dog 37. So sad. The funds supported all of their medical needs while they were in our care.
