Tangipahoa Parish Animal Control: Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant was used for reduced-fee adoptions for our feline population.

This grant helped us to be able to adopt out our felines at a reduced rate which increased our adoptions. This led to reduced time in the shelter and fewer animals having to be euthanized.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

One cat in particular who was helped by this grant is a cat named Saucy (first photo). This little girl was very scared and timid when she came to the shelter. She always stayed in the back of her room and would not come out. Saucy’s new owner came in to look for a cat to adopt and fell in love with her. She was also sad to see how sad Saucy was. Her new owner spent several hours with her that day and decided to adopt her. Saucy is now in a loving, permanent home and has come out of her shell and is no longer timid.
