Ninna's Road to Rescue: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The $180 from this quarter would have helped one average vetting, which is not typical of our rescue. Many of the dogs and cats we take in have extensive medical needs. We do, however, appreciate any amount donated.

Our vet bill averages $4,000 a month! Any amount donated to us helps in so many ways. We appreciate the Petfinder Foundation offering the Sponsor a Pet program. I wish more people contributed.

Betsy Jean, rescued from Animal Control, is just one dog whom the funds will benefit. She is still at our rescue. From her Petfinder profile: “Betsy Jean came to us from Caddo Parish Animal Services. She was an owner-surrender, but we’re not sure why. However, it does happen all the time: When their pet gets older, people tire of taking care of them and dump them at shelters. It’s really heartbreaking that a pet who’s devoted their love and loyalty to their owner is not given the same dignity and respect when they need it the most. That’s where we step in — and where YOU step in. There are adopters out there who look for aging pets to bring into their homes because they know what an amazing gift they are giving to the most vulnerable of our four-legged friends. Betsy Jean does great on a walk. She doesn’t do so well in a kennel. She’ll cry to be let out. If she knows you are around but she can’t get to you, she will cry. If she’s around you, she just wants a comfy bed or your lap and she’s good to go. She is the sweetest girl. She gives great kisses and is very social and friendly. She doesn’t meet a stranger. If you think you are the right person for sweet Betsy Jean, we’d love to hear from you!” Meet Betsy Jean here.
