Cat Haven: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The grant funding was used for the medical care of several Cat Haven cats in our care. We were able to purchase the necessary medical supplies to ensure the proper health and well-being of our kitties. We were able to buy 4-in-1 vaccines, flea preventative, and de-wormer. Having healthy kittens enabled us to facilitate more adoptions for the month of June.
We were able to buy the necessary medical supplies to provide preventative medical care, and treat flea infestations and worms. The COVID-19 shutdown of the facility greatly affected the positive flow of funding to the facility. We found ourselves stretched thin with resources and unable to purchase the necessary supplies for the rescue.
We are greatly appreciative of the Petfinder Foundation grant, which helped us continue operating during these difficult times.
How many pets did this grant help?
The purchase of the de-wormer alone will allow us to help approximately 1,650 2-lb. kittens.
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
I would like you to tell you about Goofy, the sweetest little squeaker you have ever met. Goofy was brought in with a flea infestation and weighing only 256 g. We were afraid to bathe him because he could get too cold after being exposed to the water. We feared we would not be able to dry him off fast enough to keep him warm. After examination, we were forced to bathe him to remove all the fleas that were stuck to his tiny body. Goofy was sent home with his new foster parents and some flea preventative. Now, with his adorable little face, he is flea-free, healthier, happy, and growing! Once Goofy is big enough for a forever home, he will be available for adoption on the Petfinder website.
