TLC Animal Refuge: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

During COVID, we have altered more than 100 animals (at $30-50 each) and provided initial, booster, and often last booster shots, rabies vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick preventative, microchips, and testing to each animal. We've had a couple of long-term issues with flea reactions, so we provided additional treatment there. We've supported fosters by assisting with food, litter, and assorted supply needs (litter pans, crates/condos, toys, etc.).

See above.

How many pets did this grant help?

At least 100

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Knox was found by a good Samaritan who reached out to us. He was having severe reactions to flea bites. He came to us inflamed, red and itching, with most of his body covered in flea scabs and sores. We started him on flea prevention to get rid of any fleas and mites, administered antibiotics, tested him for FELV/FIV, neutered him, gave him vaccinations, microchipped him and sent him to a long-term foster to finish healing. The foster failed 🙂 Knox was adopted by the foster and is living his happy life.
